WALK WITH GOD FAITHFULLY

Dearly Beloved, WALK WITH GOD FAITHFULLY “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him” (Genesis 5:24 NKJV). “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ‘and was not found, because God had taken him’; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:5-6 NKJV). Once again, I welcome you to the Year 2021, a year that one should walk with God more faithfully. What does it mean to walk with God? To walk with God means to live for Him, and to be ready to die for, and in Him. Apostle Paul summarised this in Philippians 1:21, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (NKJV). Anyone who will walk with God must first believe that God exists, and that He is omnipresent and omniscient. This is comforting and at the same time a caution. It is comforting because you are walking with Someone who is there to protect you and take care of you wherever you may find yourself this year. No wonder, the psalmist could say, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You [that is, God] are with me…” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV). It is, however, a caution because you cannot hide anything from Him, and He “will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14 NKJV). He is the One and the only Supreme Being to trust and worship. He is to be faithfully sought. This is the only way to please God and have His favour in the New Year (see Hebrews 11:6). Enoch was the first person in the Bible to be recorded to walk faithfully with God, and he was rewarded greatly by not experiencing physical death (see Genesis 5:21-24; Hebrews 11:5). Noah also walked with God in a generation that made God to grieve that He created human beings. God favoured him, and he (together with his family members) was saved from the flood that destroyed the whole world (see Genesis 6:8-9). Abraham walked faithfully with God, and he became a friend of God and father of faith and father of many nations. Jehoshaphat walked with God, and God established his kingdom (see 2 Chronicles 17:3-5). As you continue in the journey of the year 2021, be ready to walk with God faithfully in prayer, personal and corporate Bible studies, and fellowshipping with other Christians. It shall be well with you. You shall prosper in all your endeavours. You shall be established in Jesus’ name. Amen. In His service, Bayo Afolaranmi (Pastor). Prayer Point: Pray for the grace to faithfully walk with God this year 2021 so as to have His favour in the year.
