DO NOT IGNORE THE WARNINGS OF GOD!

Dearly Beloved, DO NOT IGNORE THE WARNINGS OF GOD! “He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” (Proverbs 29:1 NKJV). The forces of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon besieged the city of Jerusalem. The forces defeated King Zedekiah of Judah. Zedekiah was taken to Nebuchadnezzar, and the latter pronounced judgment on the former. In spite of the fact that Zedekiah sent some of his officers to Prophet Jeremiah to inquire of the Lord about the possibility of rescue from Nebuchadnezzar, God told them that the people of Judah and Jerusalem should prepare for defeat, as they would fall into the hands of the rampaging Babylonians (see Jeremiah 21:4). Zedekiah was sent to exile while his sons were killed before him and he was blinded. The land of Judah was destroyed. One would wonder why Zedekiah was defeated and his land was destroyed. A clue was given in 2 Kings 24:20: the anger of God. God had been warning the kings and people of Judah, but they were not ready to heed to His warnings. Therefore, God was so angry with Zedekiah and the land of Judah that He thrust them out of His presence. The arms of God are not too short to deliver, neither are his ears deaf to hear when people are calling on Him. However, people’s sins make God not to listen or deliver them when they are in trouble (see Isaiah 59:1-2), and there is no way the grace of God can abound where sin abounds (see Romans 6:1-2). What would you do (or refuse to do) that would make God to be angry with you to the point of allowing you to be defeated by you enemies? It is far better to be in tune with God because “It is [indeed] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31 NKJV). If you want to enjoy the protection of God, then, abstain from any form of sin. Anyone that engages in sin is exposing him/herself to all kinds of danger. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. The enemy will defeat anyone that is not in tune with God. Do not ignore the warnings of God! In His service, Bayo Afolaranmi (Pastor). Prayer Point: O God, help me to abstain from any sin so that You will not abandon me in the day of trouble.
