GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU
Dearly Beloved,
GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU
“…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV).
I am not sure if I have ever based any of my weekly devotional messages on the comforting hymn, “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” composed by Mrs Civilla Durfee Martin (1866-1948). Mrs Martin was the wife of a Baptist pastor, Walter Stillman Martin (1862-1935). They were great evangelists. The wife was sick while they had an evangelistic engagement. As the husband contemplated cancelling the appointment, their nine-year-old boy asked a simple question: “Don’t you think God can take care of Mum?” The question was a great inspiration to Mrs Martin as she composed a poem that became the popular hymn titled “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU”. God did take of Mrs Martin as she was healed and felt much better later in the day. After its composition, Rev. Martin wrote the music to the poem and added the new hymn to the hymns he was compiling for publication.
God will indeed take care of His people (see Psalm 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7). They do not to be dismayed whatever happens to them because they abide under His wings of love (see Psalm 91). He will take care of them every day, all the way. God will take care of His people when their hearts fail through days of toil. He will take care of them when fierce dangers attack their path (see Psalm 23:4). God will take care of His people by providing for all their needs, and He will not deny them of anything they ask from Him provided it according to His will for them (see 1 John 5:14). God will take care of His people no matter what may be their test or temptation (see 1 Corinthians 10:13). Therefore, His people should learn how to trust in Him because He will take care of them (see Proverbs 3:5-6).
Are you part of the people of God? God will take care of you. You do not need to be dismayed in whatever you are passing through or about to pass through. All you need to do is to trust in Him. God will take care of you. He will meet you at the point of your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (see Philippians 4:19). He has promised never to leave nor forsake you (see Hebrews 13:5).
In His service,
Bayo Afolaranmi (Pastor).
Prayer Point: Pray that you will always experience the care of God in all ramifications of your life.
